As you may or may not know, the walk signs in New York City are colored orange and white. 

The Don’t Walk signal is an orange hand.  The Walk signal is a white figure walking.

The unfortunate upshot of this is that when it’s time to cross the street, I say to Elliot, in my cheeriest voice, “Okay, let’s go!  The white man says we can walk!”
